For all you do- no water watercoloring technique

Hello, I hope you are well- back round to Wednesday again! Today I wanted to share a technique you may not know about, watercoloring with Stampin' Up! blender pens. If you'd like to know more please read on....

Firstly I chose to heat emboss the outline if my image from the Ornate Style stamp set with white embossing powder- this is not essential for the watercoloring part but just looks lovely (and helps you colour within the lines).

To colour the image I took 3 Stampin' Up ink pads and three Blender pens, these are double ended like the Blends. I use the brush tip of the pen to pick up a very small amount of ink from the pad and the colour onto the image. As you colour the intensity of the ink fades so I always start in the areas I want to be the darkest/most intense (shadows or the middles of flowers etc).

To clean the brush tip you simply continue to colour until all the ink has "run-out" or you can scribble onto scrap paper.

I love this technique but didn't discover these pens from SU for years- I think they make watercoloring so much more simple and use inks that we already have, rather than having to buy another set of water colours.

I may do a live video on this on my Facebook page to show the technique in action.
