September showers

I'm sitting here quite early on Sunday morning looking out of the window at the grey, rainy weather and trying to decide which to do first work or craft; in the end I decided to opt for a craft/work sandwich, craft, followed by work, followed by craft/tidy! A perfect way to stay warm and dry (except Meg will need walking at some point).

So, you can probably see where the inspiration for today's card came from. I used a Wplus9 stamp set- available in the UK from Make the day special. I love the sentiment and thought the clouds with rainbow rain suited it perfectly. The rain drops were actually attached to each other originally but I took my scissors and snipped the stamp apart (something I often do) to make it easier to ink with different colours and allowed me to vary the order of the lengths.

I also added some gems in matching colors to add interest to this CAS design. I think the silver mat lifts the image and in my mind was the "silver lining" for the grey clouds.

Oh, and in case anyone was wondering and knows that my day job is as a Science teacher I am aware that I'm missing one of the rainbow colours (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet) but it looked odd when one cloud had 3 colours and the other had 4!!

Challenges

So, thanks for popping by and I hope you have a lovely Sunday. I think the rest of my crafting today will be spent getting ahead on some scheduled posts.

See you soon,

Love Rebecca x
