New technique

My second post of the day featuring a new to me technique- kissing!

The idea for this card came form the Friday Mash up.

The flower image was stamped using the kissing technique which basically involves inking a solid image and the image  a patter/background image in a different colour and putting the background stamp onto the solid stamp which gives the solid stamp a pattern/texture. In this case my flower was a solid image and the background stamp was a polka dot one from Marion Emberson. Not sure I explained that well *you'd never know I taught others for a living)  and a better description can be found here.

So, after I had stamped my flowers I cut them out, add a green paper twine "stem" and then stamped a circular sentiment. The sentiment is from a Hero Arts set "everyday sayings" the stamp wasn't actually curved to start with but I placed my clear acrylic block over a circle template and then curved the polymer stamp into shape, the stamp stayed in the curve shape whilst it was stuck on the block. I stamped the sentiment 3 times and added the pearls.

Thanks for looking,

  3. Rebecca,

I love your card, such a pretty and very CAS design. Brilliant use of the circular sentiment effect. Thanks for playing along in our fun challenge this week.

I used my kissing technique slightly differently, I used my second stamp to take ink away from the solid image, leaving a lighter pattern behind. So you can see there are many ways of using this technique.
