BOGOF

Sorry, no offence meant with the title, but as I made two cards to night from the same stamps set and inks I thought I'd share them together! I friend asked me to make a get well card so I made her two to pick from.

I've used the Fresh Flowers stamp set from CB stamps for both cards and I've also coloured them both with some new colours of Distress ink that I bought on the weekend.

I've only just recently got into TH distress inks when I discovered the new mini sizes- it makes it much more affordable to buy a range of colours. Previously I avoided buying them because a) I thought I didn't need them (ha) and b) I couldn't really afford to but lots of new ink pads BUT it turned out I DO need them and I think they're fab, especially for water colouring and the mini size makes them quite affordable and easy to store..Anyway, I've now got 4 of the mini sets(#1,2,4 & 5), you can see them here.

On this first card I stamped the flower image and then heat embossed it with white powder before die cutting it, colouring it and attaching it to a CB die cut tag. The background was made by masking the top and bottom of the base card with paper and then stamping with a large MFT wood background stamp. Finally, the sentiment is from SU.

For the second card I stamped the image directly onto the card using a distress ink- I applied pink ink onto the flower parts and green onto the stem and leaves. Next I water coloured the image using more distress inks (I squidge the ink pad onto my glass cutting mat to make my palette).  The sentiment on this card is also from CB and is stamped on a MFT banner.
