Hello, I'm back again with another card, please feel free to scroll down for my earlier post (which was actually meant for yesterday).
I've just finished some school work followed by making a huge pile of cards for an order and I just wanted to make something for pleasure. People have been asking me through the comments on my blog candy post where I get my inspiration from so here's an insight into my thought process.....
First of all I checked bloglovin for recent challenges and a few caught my eye, I make a note of each one on a notepad otherwise I get mixed up with which blog was asking for what etc. (important health note, when I first started blogging I tried to keep up with every challenge going.... now I'm a bit more discerning and only have a dozen or so that I take part in on a regular basis otherwise it can all get a bit overwhelming!)
Next I try to decide what I'm in the mood to do.... colour, cutting, die cutting, stamping etc and if there are any new products I want to use or something lying around on my desk.
Now from my work on DTs, I know some people will make a card and then try to squeeze it into as many challenges as possible reguardless of how tenuous the link but I like to challenge myself to start with the themes and ensure my card really is inspired by them. So today I decided to start with the Cue card from Casology- "Paper", the theme from Lilis little faries- "all about the boys" and Cute Card Thursday with "Back to school".
Okay, so I have my ideas..... because I've picked the LOTV challenge that narrows my options of stamps down ..... so I have a browse through my collection for male themed LOTV stamps. Straight away, two catch my eye..... one with a boy asleep under and tree with a newspaper next to him and then a different stamp, also with a boy, but this time he has made a boat from a log and an envelope as the sail- bingo! Straight away I can visualize the card, really CAS with the image in the centre, coloured softly, a touch of glitter and the perfect sentiment both for the image and the back to school theme "follow your dreams" (something I think more students should do).
And here is the card........
So there you have it a little insight into how my mind works.... scary huh?!
Anyway, thanks for the visit- apologies for going on a bit but I know a few of you may be interested and those most observant of you may also have noticed that by popular request I've made the text on my blog a bit darker- hope it helps!
