Good afternoon, I've been very busy since my early start this morning but I'm back home and while I was out I had inspiration for another card.
The bird stamps are from some really old Docrafts sets and the sentiment is from a Sizzix framelets stamp set. The most difficult part of this card was measuring out and positioning all of the birds with something as simple as this it's the detail that counts. I'm a bit disappointed that on the photo from the angle I've taken the picture from the birds look a bit too low from the top of the card however it isn't noticeable in really life. The inks I used were Memento- graphite black and pearlescent purple.
Challenges:
Less is more- one layer card with fur/feathers
Casual Fridays square cards
Sweet stamping blog- things with wings
I actually made this card first but I think it turned out to be an epic fail! :-(
On a different not I am very pleased that I got a shout out from Retro Sketches for this card!
Thanks for looking, don't forget to take a look in on my blog candy,
Rebecca x

Gorgeous cards, love both very creative as always x
ReplyDeleteThis made me laugh - it reminded me of times when it doesn't feel so good to be told that you're 'special' in that very 'special' way, if you know what I mean! lol! Great way to illustrate the special-ness! As for the other card, I don't think it's an epic fail - I think they're too far apart. If you put them closer together and made it a panel on the larger card, this would work quite nicely - they're great images! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteThis is what my husband said, I honestly didn't mean it that way. Oops
ReplyDeleteThese little birds look charming Rebecca!
ReplyDeleteSuper job!
Thanks so much

Oh, I love what you've done with the little Papermania bird. I have that set, too and that little bird is one of my absolute favourite stamps. He's got the perfect 'cheeky' look about him. I think you're layout is awesome - your grid looks perfect to me! And the mirror stamping is wonderful - I've never thought of trying it with that stamp. Did you find it easy?
ReplyDeleteSuper stamping Rebecca, brilliant idea
ReplyDeleteThanks very much

Two great cards...and if you really aren't crazy about the second card, you could always cut it down and bit and then re-stamp the lower image....I always try to "save" my cards when I can! ;)
ReplyDeleteI like them both but I love the first one and your placement looks perfect to me! Hugs, Lesley
