Happy valentines to you all, I'm not feeling too well today so spent most of the day sat on the sofa but this afternoon I thought I'd give a bit of crating a go. And I'm glad I did, as i discovered I'd been selected in the top 12 over at the ColourQ challenge blog. This was the first time I posted a card to this challenge but I really enjoyed the challenge of a different colour combination than I would usually use.
So, for today's card this card was, as usual, inspired by some of the wonderful work I see on other blogs and websites. The main technique on this card is called spotlighting and a description of what this is can be found here.
The images and sentiment are all from a Kirsty Wiseman stamps set "terrestrial friends". I stamped the alien 3 times and then punched out an oval aperture over the middle one. I restamped the alien on another piece of card and then I coloured this with promarkers and gelly roll pens. I layered up the card with a green mat behind and a strip of ribbon. Inside I used some bright green vellum to create and insert which also covered up the ribbon.
Sweet stampin challenge - clean and simple
Thanks for looking,
P.S. just noticed the hand of the first alien has "gone missing" opps!
