This is my cute little Christmas card made using the template from Mojo Monday Blog.

The base card is made from 2 die cut scallop circles and then a small die cut circle of Polka Doodles paper on top. I added two strips of satin ribbon, a button, a simple message and finally some glitter glue.

Magical Monday

This card was made specifically for this sketch from the Magical Monday Challenge Blog

As the name suggests cards have to have a magical theme of some sort so when I spotted this lovely unicorn paper in the new bumper "best of K&co" paper stack I couldn't resist.

I have very simply decoupage a few of the unicorn images to give a 3D layered look and used a co-ordinating paper in the background plus a few punched bits and embellishments.

I think it would make a nice good luck card of a new job/home card.

Thanks for looking, please feel free to leave a comment.

Recycling Bling

So........ this was an interesting one. I combined the Simply Less is More Challenge of  "bling" with the Crafty Cardmakers Challenge of "Recycling" and the Craft your days away "buttons and/or bow" challenge.

To make it I cut up a cheap diamante bracelet with heart charm that i got from Claire's Accessories many years ago. I used the main heart shaped charm as the focal point and attached a Navy coloured satin ribbon bow (made from the ribbon hangers that hold your clothes on the clothes hanger- i always cut them out of new clothes!). Then I matted the heart on off-cuts of navy and silver card. I added the message, also mounted on navy card and 3 of the diamante stone from the bracelet itself. Quite a chic card even if I do say so myself!

Winter scene

I made this cute little card using a 10cm x 10cm craftwork card card blank and an a wooden stamp called snowy home by Whipper Snapper Design. The sentiment is also a wooden stamp from My Sentiments Exactley. Then I coloured it in using promarkers and added Gelly roll dot for Christmas lights and glitter on the snow. I really like the results, it's very cute.

I'd like to enter it into the Paper Sundaes Challenge " Winter Wonderland" , The Ribbon Girl "Jingle all the way" challenge, The poodles Parlour "christmas themed" challenge and the Shopping our stash  "anything Christmas of winter" challenge

Happy Birthday

I made this card using some previously untouched t the photo-Papermania stamps (Mix N Match celebration stamps). I used the stamps to build the cake, add the candles, bunting, balloons and message! The cake was coloured with promarkers and a little bit of a pink sparkle Gelly roll pen. I used water colour pencils to colours the bunting and balloons. The main image and the balloons are mounted on 3D foam.

Sorry about the photograph, I don't think it shows my latest creation off to its best.

I would like to enter this into the Fab and Funky "Happy Birthday" challenge, the Cute Card Thursday Sketch challenge and the Pile it on "sugar and Spice" challenge.

Cheers!

A simply little card that would be ideal for a New Years card of even wedding or engagement congratulations. Two stamped images- the sentiment is from Rubber Stampede "cheer bubbly" and the image was a stamp I got free on a magazine years ago!

I stamped the image and sentiment straight on to the square base card using a black Impress dye ink pad. Then I used a cool grey 1 promarker to go over all the stamped lines to give a sense of depth on a flat one layer card. I also coloured in the liquid in th glasses using a Powder Blue promarker and the glasses using a Satin coloured promarker. Finally I blinged it up with multi-coloured gems and some tiny Papermania glitter dots for the bubbles.

I would like to enter this for the Less is More challenge "A bit of Bling" and the I love promarkers "Anything goes" challenege

Gift box for Mum

To make this gift box I covered an old perfume gift set box with K&co paper and lots of die cut sizzix images made from co-ordinating K&co paper. I think it's really pretty and I'm sure that my Mum will love it- I plan to fill it with lots of smellies!

Thanks

Bit more successful on the crafting front tonight, I guess it's because I am a little less stressed.

I thought I would try to use some of my K&Co papers as the storage box that they are in is over flowing. I simply took a mix of papers and ran them through my Big Shot leaving me with loads of die cut flowers, swirls, butterflies etc. Then I just put them together to make this pretty thank you card. The only extras I needed was the Craftwork Card sentiment, a few pearls and some buttons.

I would like to enter this is the PaperPlay challenge "Being Thankful", Bugaboo Stamps challenge "give thanks/thanksgiving" and Craftycreations "give thanks or gratitude" challenge

I think I am going to make a gift box for my mums birthday with the left over die cuts........ maybe I'll post it later.

And with my bargain craft supplies

I made this quick card using my bargain Papermania Mistletoe Kisses kit.

I stamped the main image and coloured it with promarkers. Cut it out using Spellbinders circle die and matted onto a scalloped circle of Papermania paper. Finnaly I matted more paper from the Mistletoe Kisses paper pad onto gold mirri, assembled the card and added the sentiment, Petaloo flowers and red gems.

Phew....

Well, I got a box full of craft goodies through the door this morning and planned all day about the peacful evening of crafting ahead after all my work was finished.

However, it has been nothing of the sort- everything has been really hard going tonight....... lack of inspiration, tape pen malfunction, camera malfunction, dog eating paper....grrrrr.

Anyway, thought I'd post a couple of cards I made on the weekend instead.

The Holly card is just a pre-glittered card with a matching stamped holly sprig and sentiment mounted on a large square card. The other card was made by water colouring in an image from some Papermania Henbury Lane Christmas stamps.

I would like to enter them for the Papertake Weekly Challenge- Christmas Crackers.

Pretty in pink

A late night addition to the blog and a submission for three challenges. The Ribbon Girl colour challenge pink and white,  Paper Sundaes beautiful bows challenge and the Pile it on
Anything with the letter "P" (its pink and has pearls and petals)

The base card is 5x7" and layered with a Bo Bunny card (Love Bandit love U Deerly reversable 12x12"). Then I added a generous pink ribbon bow before adding the stamped image. The flowers are a Marion Emberson design (on your special day) as is the sentiment (sunshine and flowers). Finally, I jazzed up the flowers with a selction of different sized and colourd pearl gems and went over the sentiment with a pink Sakura Gelly Roll pen.

Getting organised for Christmas

Before.....
I was doing a bit of blog surfing last night and found some lovely ideas on this site-  Mish Mash.

Anyway it gave me a bit of inspiration to take a very cheap note pad (4 for £1),  design a pretty cover for it and use to to keep track of things to do for Christmas such as  who I've already bought presents for etc.

.....after!
It's really simple but nicer to leave out on a work surface than the plain old notebook! (Now all I need to do is the shopping and wrapping!)

I also though that it would work well for the Festive Cheer challenge from The Crafty Pad. The challenge suggested using traditional colours such a red and green plus, in this case,  a splash of gold glitter.Aslo the JUGs, red, green and white challenge

This baby card was made following the inspiration from Freshly Made Sketches.

I made use of a craftwork card scalloped card blank and some craftwork cards paper and a die cut square frame. I added some white organza ribbon. a chipboard sentiment embellishment (DCWV) and a wooen giraffe button that I've had lurcking in the button box for ages.

Shame about the photo- need a better camera and daylight!!

Simple Christmas Card.

 n. silhouette is the image of a person, an object or scene consisting of the outline and a basically featureless interior, with the silhouetted object usually being black.

I made this card on a 20cm white, square card. The image is called "lets play" from Penny Black which I bought 4-5 years ago in the Jan sales. I used a black ink pad to stamp the image and then black embossing powder. I added the gems to the background, matted on black and then silver card. The stamped sentiment is from a Papermania set -Henbury Lane. Finally I added the organza ribbon.

After the positive comments from last weeks "leaf" challennge from Less is More I felt inspired to have a go at this week challenge- Silhouettes.

I am also submitting this to the  Black, white and one other colour challenge at Marks Finest Papers Blog . I am counting the silver as my other colour- hope that's okay!?

Starfish- water water everywhere challenge

This was a really fun challenge that also forced me to use up some otherwise neglected items from my stash. Never did I think I'd find a use for that Surf Board paper from DCWV or the shell and starfish buttons but here they are sitting proudly on my water themed card for the Daring Cardmaker Challenge- WATER. I really quite like this cute and fun card and it'll be hand as a thank you card for a lady or a gent.

Less is more challenge

Quite a tricky challenge for  Less is more...... make a one layer card with the theme leaves! I don't actually have many leaf stamps but I managed to dig out this Dawn Bibby one (from a set off QVC a few years ago) and stamped it twice around a Hero Arts sentiment stamp using a green chalk ink pad. Finally added a few pearl embellishments. Very simple!

Talk about easily distracted

So, I was meant to be having a tidy up- instead I ended up making some 3-D flowers using some card candi I found! I'll leave them to dry now a get the mess sorted!

Mums Birthday Card

Phew, so glad I have been able to have a crafty Sunday and relax at least a little bit. Today my main tasks have been to tidy up  (not quite finished but will post a photo if and when I do) and to make a birthday card for my mums birthday which is later in the month.

I used lots of different materials for this card but the main inspiration was from a Craftwork Cards Warren Rabbit pack that I snaffled at the Great Yorkshire Papercraft Extravaganza in Harrogate last month.

The base card is cream pearl and measures 8"x8". I matted some gold mirri card and a square of paper from a company called Crate Paper - New Garden Collection (goodness know where I got it from but it's been in the stash for years!) I also used a paper ribbon strip from the same collection down the right hand side of the card.

Then I used the Warren image which I decoupaged a few times and mounted on a die cut scalloped circle. The paper I used was also from Craftwork Cards. Finally I used small die cut leaf and some flowers to embellish the image. For the tag I used a matching paper tag and layered a Craftwork card gold flower die cut with the Happy Birthday tag and last but not least attached a pink ribbon.

I'm quite pleased with final result, and now I've blogged about it I guess I should get back to the tidy up (think I'll have Create and Craft on in the background as well)

One for the men

Finished card
So, I am really trying very hard to stick to my resolution- make time for crafting and blog about it! For my first real blog I thought I would share a card that I have made after a long Sunday planning lessons (I'm a teacher by day).

The card is on a 5x7'' blank from craft UK. I stamped the image "Cheers" from Wild Rose Studio using a rich cocoa Memento ink pad. Then i used promarkers to colour in the image which included a light grey shadow around the image. I layered the image onto paper taken from the "stomp" 12x12" paper pad by My Minds Eye. Finally i added a message stamp and embellished with a bit of ribbon and a couple of tiny buttons. Overall I am quite pleased with the final design- I'll keep it safe for my husbands birthday.
